hmm....
It started quite controlled, I think. A little collage. Sure, sweetie, why not.
But then things got a little out of hand...
And worse...
Sigh.
We need a studio.

and then some colours
I know easter is over, but we keep our 'stash' up for much longer. Thought I needed some colourful photos here now.

corner view bergen, norway: not cityscapes
ok, so i got it all wrong. i didn't get the specifics of today's theme, so obviously, i didn't climb our highest mountain to get a good cityscape shot. instead, i thought i'd do the very first corner view theme, as i missed out on that one. so this is what my corner looks like.
i open the door, and this is what i see.
i step outside.

further up the stairs, a more pleasant greeting.
and right across the narrow street - our sweet neighbour's house. which, admittedly, i would rather live in. (shh - don't tell my house. she's old and fragile i might just collapse (literally!) under the weight of such unfriendly utterings.)
i turn to my old and worn house, walk back down the stairs.
(that's a pretty weird shot, isn't it? if you didn't know there was a door, i mean.)
i open the door, and this is what i see.
i climb the stairs, and am greeted by the number one enemy of our country's flora (and agriculture); the iberia forest slug (brown slug, killer slug). not native, and therefore, no natural enemies. they're everywhere, and they eat everything.
ah, yes. if you want to see how my city looks like from a mountain top (not the highest, though), go here.

framed
ecology of flowers from swallowfield, two of geninne's 20 bird prints, and earth day from the charm school drop out. (please click to view them on etsy, the photos there are so much more representative than mine).
i have more prints that needs a place to live, but my walls - oh, my walls...
we rent our house, and we never planned on staying long, so we didn't want to invest either time or money on painting. in addition, there's a certain system to the way it's painted - sponge painted orange/yellowish on top, yellow down the staircase, changing into yellow/greenish, then green down in the hallway. (yup. the owners are anthroposofists/waldorf teachers. did you guess?)
the colour is actually not as bad as photos show, it's warmer and not at all so pale, but still - at night i dream of cream white walls with no, absolutely no (nada! niente! rien!) texture.

moments
making a couple of felt mice for a friend's daughter's birthday. and, with the sun peeping in between the hail and the rain, being given a unique chance to really observe just how dirty my windows are.
yup. spring cleaning, i hear you knocking.
(ps - i don't hope too many of you noticed my mistake yesterday. i started writing a post about music, and hit the 'publish' button instead of 'save', without noticing it. it was up for hours, and i didn't know until someone commented on it. a bit embarrassing..)

kids ATC swap
i signed my daughter up for this huge kids atc swap hosted by erin and blair (i have a feeling this blog is more about my daughter than me. huh. i need to get out more and get some new impulses). i thought it might be fun for her. it was, but it was even more fun for me, i think. the two of us have been spending a lot of time at home together, taking days off from work and pre school, so the table was covered in all sorts of paper-glue stuff for several days. now we just have to send them off to four kids in - uh - the states, i think.
