in the bleak midwinter

i'm such a lousy blogger these days. the days are just packed. right now we're preparing the kid's skiing trips. they'll be away for almost four days with their classes - both at the same time. what's a mum and dad supposed to do with all that time??
my mood has been a bit unstable so far this february. i'm not sure whether it's some big existential stuff (again... sigh), or just uneasiness about the snow that never leaves. but at least, i can hear the birds sing now.

Sorry to hear you're feeling down. Winter blues? The photos are amazing, but its' true, they are all a little stark... bleak and beautiful. Hope your mood picks up soon. x

Beautiful photos, the view captivating, hope your mood lightens and you enjoy the quietness while your children are away.
I lived for two years in Norway and sometimes long to return, and live there. Will never forget the particular light in Tromso.

This sounds really pathetic, but I have never before made the connection between that kind of knitting and the surrounding winter landscape. But they look completely the same. Hey, I grew up in Florida, give me a break!

Your pictures are gorgeous, as ever.

love these photos! i hope you're feeling better. i know from friends and family in denmark, that they were also getting uneasy and distressed about the unusual long and cold winter.
