corner view bergen, norway: the great outdoors

norwegians are hikers. the idea of nature as the source of recreation is firmly based within our northern souls. sunday walks are tradition, and although my family's lifestyle opens up for a bit more spontaneity as to which day(s) will be spent outdoors, this sunday we did what thousands of other norwegians did.
we discovered a new place none of us had been to before, and spent about 4 hours there, climbing, running, listening, smelling, looking, marvelling, getting wet and collecting treasures. happy day.

Those woods must be great for wild berries and mushrooms.

Gasp! How completely beautiful. Reminds me a bit of my beloved forests in the Pacific Northwest (USA). But I do believe yours are even more inviting. I shall move Norway up higher on my "must visit" list :-)

oh how gorgeous...take me there! my boyfriend when i lived in switzerland was half swedish, half norweigan and i had tons of norweigan friends in fribourg - always going to the mountains - to ski, or hike or whatever - such fun! men ja kann inte prata norsk! :-) - actually that's not true, i did learn "o so swinger wi pa seidelen igen hai skol" and i have no idea how to spell it, but it probably gives you a good idea of the clowns i hung out with - happy 17th of may by the way!

Wow, that is so beautiful. So different from my end of the world.
Thanks for sharing. I love looking at nature photos on people's blogs from all over the world. Australia is so far away from everything it will be quite a few years before I'll be travelling the world. I'll get there one day :)

For now I'll see the world through blog land.

You asked me a while back about Katies cardigan. No I didn't knit it I bought it from a opp shop it was like new.

Looks like you have an amazing landscape in your country, with striking differences between winter and summer: perhaps that's why you love exploring it!

These photos are straight out of my imagination from when I was little. I would always pretend I was surrounded with large trees and find paths to wander. These are seriously good.

breathtaking shots. just beautiful! you have a lovely blog. my parents used to live in norway, long ago. my brother's name comes from norway, as a result. :) when we visited as teens, my parents said "now kids, this is your kind of country." they were right.
